Cody Detwiler, better known on YouTube as WhistlinDiesel, was arrested for tax-related offenses again, claiming to owe $30,000 USD.
On November 12, 2025, Detwiler was arrested and charged with tax evasion. Booked in Williamson County, Tennessee, the vehicle-oriented YouTuber was released on bond mere hours later. The bond was listed at $2 million.
74 days later, he was arrested again. As shared on Instagram, upon landing in America on January 25, 2025, he was once again taken into custody by local forces. This time, it was just 50 minutes later that he was released, but owing a certain chunk of change.
According to the internet personality, who appeared smiling in his mugshot, he claimed to owe $30,000 in tax. However, he allegedly never received correspondence to alert him of the monies owed.

The apparent confusion stems from the registration of a particular vehicle. A car, listed in the tax evasion indictment, was registered in Montana. However, the vehicle was later destroyed in a different state.
“They didn’t send me a letter saying I owed any tax and instead formed a three-year-long case,” the YouTuber claimed in his posted on social media.
“They did not give me any notice or any opportunity to pay any tax.”
In a post relating to his previous arrest at the tail end of 2025, WhistlinDiesel assured he has “always paid all of [his] taxes.”
That wasn’t his first brush with the law though, as he faced misdemeanor charges and up to a year in jail back in 2022. At the time, he was hot water after making waves while riding on a jetski in a local lake.
