Popular YouTuber Schlep has hit out at Roblox for “lying” about him in a new statement about predator hunters.
At the start of August, “Predator Hunter” Schlep was banned by Roblox and threatened with legal action. The YouTuber, who has over 600,000 subscribers, was also accused of multiple violations of Roblox’s Terms of Use and Community Standards.
Schlep, who claims he has been responsible for six arrests, was accused by Roblox of “simulated child endangerment conversations”, “sharing or soliciting personally identifiable information”, and “encouraging users to move conversations off-platform.”
Roblox has since come under fire due to concerns around child safety, but has defended its move to ban Schlep and other “vigilantes” for ‘creating an unsafe environment and normalized behavior that is both unacceptable on Roblox and is against our Terms of Use.’
Schlep hits back at Roblox again
On August 28, Roblox provided another statement to the media about holding “bad actors” responsible for taking the law into their own hands.
Schlep quickly hit out at the new statement. “Roblox just made another statement to the media repeating the same sentiment “that I’m taking the law into my own hands”. How is handing the information to the cops, them making arrests, “taking the law into my own hands,” he said on X (formerly Twitter).
“This is NOT True. Stop lying about me.”
The YouTuber also stated that he is not a “vigilante,” again explaining that he passes all information onto the relevant authorities.
“I am not a vigilante. I report my findings to law enforcement and Roblox. What’s shocking is that police consistently find enough evidence to bring criminal charges, yet in multiple instances, Roblox refuses to take action until the situation is made public,” he said.
Schlep has also spoken with Chris Hansen, of To Catch A Predator fame, after the television host said he’d like to make a documentary on the situation.
A petition calling for the resignation of Roblox CEO David Baszucki has also eclipsed 250,000 signatures. It had previously hit 100,000 following Schlep’s ban.
