Streaming star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel was left shocked when a news anchor gave him a shoutout during a live police car chase.

Police car chases, both live and not, have been something that streamers tune in for. There are even Twitch accounts dedicated to jumping on a stream whenever a new chase gets underway, with many social media accounts regularly shouting out the start of new chases too.

In the case of xQc, the Canadian streamer has been tuning into chases for quite a while, with it being one of those types of content that his viewers look forward to. They’ll regularly try and get him to tune in from the start, and show him highlights of when things go bad.

As a result, his name has popped up on live TV a few times, however, it always comes as a surprise to him.

xQc responds to shoutout from news anchor

That was the case on February 18, when Lengyel tuned into a police chase on CBS News Los Angeles and had his name mentioned by the news presenter.

“Actually, there’s a Twitch streamer that is watching us and streaming our feed right now, his name is xQc,” the presenter said, noting that a number of xQc’s viewers had texted in to ask a question about the ongoing chase.

The former Overwatch star burst out laughing at the mention of his name, screaming: “What? That’s crazy! Chat, we made it.”

xQc also gave props to the anchor for a “good answer” after he replied that it woul be “dangerous” to shoot out the car’s tyres, which xQc had been suggesting.

“Chat, with great power comes great responsibility. Next time, I will ask my own question. I’m not going to ask you guys to ask. That’s a little bit powerful of a strategy,” he added.

The streamer continued to watch the chase for a little while before turning off and reacting to other videos.
