xQc has finally broken a two-year drought in Minecraft speedrunning, setting a new personal best on January 20, 2026, but the milestone still wasn’t enough to reclaim the long-contested record from Forsen.
During a late-night stream, xQc clocked a 16:10 completion time in Minecraft Any%, his fastest run since 2023. The result marked his first PB in more than two years and a clear sign that his ongoing grind hasn’t stalled, even after hundreds of hours chasing a single record.
However, the run still fell short of the benchmark set by Forsen, whose 15:28 time from October 2023 remains untouched and continues to stand as the defining moment of their five-year rivalry.
xQc comes close to overtaking Forsen, but not close enough
The January 20 run had potential early, but several late-game issues proved costly. xQc struggled with unfavorable blaze spawns in the Nether and later lost critical seconds waiting on Ender Dragon perch timing. By the time the dragon finally cooperated, the margin for a record was gone.
Chat reaction was immediate, with viewers arguing that the run was lost even earlier. Several claimed xQc wasted close to a minute circling a stronghold dungeon before committing to the End portal.
xQc pushed back on that criticism on stream, insisting the route adjustments did not meaningfully affect the final time and that the run’s fate was decided by RNG-heavy factors outside his control.
After securing the PB, xQc continued running Minecraft for several more hours, attempting to build momentum while conditions felt favorable. None of the subsequent attempts came close to either his new 16:10 or Forsen’s 15:28.
The result have revived the long-running xQc vs. Forsen saga, despite Forsen not having touched the game since 2023. xQc has proven he can still improve after years away from personal records, but Forsen’s near-flawless 2023 run remains the wall he hasn’t been able to break through.
