David Rush, a serial breaker of Guinness World Records, has reclaimed the record for Longest Time Balancing a Chair on the Chin. However, he says he could have gone longer, but it wasn’t a physical issue.

Becoming a Guinness World Record holder is a bucket list thing for many people. However, David Rush has taken things to another level, holding more than 350 records in his lifetime. Seriously.

Rush, who holds more Guinness World Records than anyone else, likes to break some of the weirder and wackier records than you can think of. That includes balancing a ladder on his chin, making a sandwich while blindfolded, and even eating apples while juggling them. He once broke 15 records in a single day.

Back in 2024, he reclaimed another record of his, the Longest Time Balancing a Chair on the Chin with a time of 1:20:34. However, he’s since revealed he could have gone longer, if not for the mental strain.

David Rush breaks world record again balancing chair on chin

On February 9, Rush revealed that he’d been “training specifically to rebuild strength and endurance in my neck,” because the record is “quite literally, a pain in the neck” and could have gone longer than the 1 hour 20 mark.

“As I approached the one-hour and 19-minute mark, I realized I probably had the capacity to continue longer. Physically, I could keep going. Mentally and structurally, however, the pain was overwhelming,” he said on his blog.

“This record is not about how long you can tolerate discomfort. It is about knowing your limits, respecting the strain on your body, and choosing longevity over ego. Reclaiming this title reinforced the importance of smart preparation, disciplined execution, and stopping at the right moment.”

Rush added that going longer would have brought “unnecessary injury risk” and breaking the record by a minute was fine anyway.

It isn’t the wildest Guinness World Record thats been broken recently, either, with a dad in Sweden putting 81 matches in his nose, just so he could impress his kids.
