A woman in Spain has lost her job, and any chance of compensation, after repeatedly showing up to work far too early, with a court ruling that her employer was justified in firing her.

The case, reported by local media in Alicante, centers on a parcel company employee who made a habit of arriving between 30 and 45 minutes before her scheduled shift. Her boss warned her several times to stop coming in early, but she ignored every warning.

While working extra time might sound like dedication, that wasn’t the issue. The court noted that when she arrived, the facility wasn’t operational yet. No other staff were present, meaning she couldn’t actually perform her duties. Instead, her repeated early arrivals were classified as a breach of the assigned schedule, the same way repeated lateness would be.

“Disobedient” employee fired for showing up to work early

The judge ruled that this ongoing disobedience damaged the trust between the company and the employee. The written judgment described her behavior as a “serious fault” that justified dismissal without compensation.

The court highlighted three key factors. First, she repeatedly violated her manager’s instructions despite clear warnings.

Second, her schedule non-compliance affected workplace operations and the employer’s expectations of loyalty.

And third, the ruling says she recorded some of her clock-out times after leaving the building, allegedly marking her departure when she was already miles away.

With all three issues combined, the court concluded that the firing was lawful and appropriate.

This isn’t the only wild firing to go viral. Back in 2023, MMO streamer BlueSquadron was fired from his teaching position after ex-guild members allegedly contacted the school he worked for.

That same year, a man was terminated from his job after telling management that his girlfriend was pregnant.
