Actor and singer Will Smith has come under fire online for allegedly using AI in videos from his concert crowds, with one actress claiming her likeness has been used.

Will Smith is known for leading the way in a few different fields. Some fans adore his actin, while others are bigger fans of his music. Despite having some massive hits, his music does, at times, go overlooked compared to his movies and television output.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has even been out on tour over the summer, hitting up the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States with some classic tunes, and some new ones, too.

With that tour wrapping up, Smith has posted a few videos thanking fans for coming out and supporting him. However, there have been claims of him using AI to populate different parts of the videos.

Will Smith called out for apparently using AI

A number of different social media accounts have called the actor out for the apparent use of AI, with plenty of different still shots of distorted crowd members.

“If you’re not looking for it, you wouldn’t notice it. It’s good B reel, but his production crew was lazy, this was easy to avoid,” one said. “Bro taking photos with his son’s toy,” another added, showing what appears to be a toy car in place of a phone or camera.

Some AI fears downplayed

Others suggested that some of the signs are AI because of the text used on them. Again, some of them look distorted.

However, a few of these have been dismissed, with social media accounts showing clips from crowd members actually holding them up.

“Sometimes AI is only used to make real footage appear cleaner & up the resolution (I.e. Vmake).. the fakest looking sign in the evidence, was actually real,” one pointed out.

Actress’s likeness “copy & pasted’ in Will Smith’s video

Yet, actress Heather-Ashley Boyer claimed that her likeness had been used as one of the crowd members holding a flag.

“This is AI. My face and body was used in this and I was definitely not there in real life. It just straight up copy and pasted me. Wth!” she posted on Instagram.

Boyer suggested that her likeness had been “scraped from a photo” that she was tagged in on Instagram.

“The guy next to me is totally fake though, but the salmon shorts are similar to the guy with me in the real photo,” she added.

Smith has not responded to any of the claims about the alleged use of AI, however.
