Labor Day weekend promises to be sunny and warm for cities and state parks across Northern, Central and Southern Indiana, according to the National Weather Service.
Federal and state offices will be closed for Labor Day, which celebrates the accomplishments of American workers and marks the unofficial end of summer.
Whether you plan to swim in Lake Michigan by Indiana’s famous sand dunes or hike under the leafy canopy of trees at Turkey Run State Park, here’s what you should know about the weather in those and other areas across the Hoosier State.

Indianapolis Labor Day weekend weather forecast
Heading to the Indianapolis Zoo, the Children’s Museum or to other fun places around Indy? You probably won’t need a heavy jacket. The forecast for Central Indiana, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, is as follows:
🌤️ Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74 and a low around 53.
🌤️ Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75 and a low around 54.
🌤️ Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78 and a low around 57.
🌤️ Labor Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Southern Indiana Labor Day weekend weather forecast
Meteorologists predict warm and sunny weather in Southern Indiana around Evansville during the Labor Day weekend. According to National Weather Service in Paducah, the forecast for the Evansville area is as follows:
☀️ Friday: Sunny, with a high near 85 and a low around 58.
🌤️ Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83 and a low around 58.
🌤️ Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83 and a low around 59.
☀️ Labor Day: Sunny, with a high near 85. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph.

Northern Indiana Labor Day weekend weather forecast
Labor Day weekend travelers who want to scope out South Bend’s Chocolate Factory or the Indiana Dinosaur Museum will do so under pleasant, sunny skies. The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana predicts these conditions for South Bend:
☀️ Friday: Sunny, with a high near 70 and a low around 48.
🌤️ Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73 and a low around 50.
☀️ Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 76 and a low around 52.
☀️ Labor Day: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Here’s what weather forecasts look for popular Indiana tourist destinations outside of Indianapolis.
Hikers, campers and nature-enthusiasts should have a pleasant stay at Brown County State Park. The NWS forecast for Nashville, Indiana is as follows:

Indiana Dunes National Park is one of the Hoosier State’s treasured gems (even if some people don’t agree). While rain is predicted to cool things off during the early part of the week, skies should be mostly clear and sunny by Labor Day weekend, according to NWS.
