YouTube star WhistlinDiesel has addressed his November 12 arrest with a series of Instagram stories and Reels, telling fans an update is coming soon but he needs time to film a full YouTube breakdown.
Cody Detwiler was taken into custody in Williamson County, Tennessee on a tax evasion charge before being released the same afternoon on a $2,000,000 bond.
The 27-year-old previously posted photos of officers arriving at his property and leading him away in handcuffs. On Sunday, November 16, he followed up by telling viewers he plans to explain the situation in detail, but will not reveal how he and his team are handling the charge until the video is complete.
In his posts, Detwiler said the “arrest situation” was “interesting” and that he wants the YouTube update to be properly filmed before sharing anything publicly. He did not provide a release date for the video.
WhistlinDiesel responds to “selling out” accusations
Detwiler also used his Instagram stories to address viewers who claim he has “sold out.”
“A lot of people love to throw around the term sell out,” he said. “The definition of selling out is giving up your morals for money. What you stand for. That’s selling out because you are selling yourself out.”
He insisted he has not changed his tone, views, or style to appease advertisers or maximize revenue.
“I don’t care how many people I anger. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. I do it because I enjoy it,” he said.
Creator jokes about taking his Killdozer to court
In a separate reel, Detwiler referenced his upcoming November 19 court date and joked about showing up in his full-scale Killdozer replica.
“So I’ve just made a sudden realization that my court date is coming up for this whole tax evasion thing and I have a Killdozer,” he said. “Why not keep the miles off my other Ferrari and take the Killdozer to court?”
He asked fans if anyone could haul the 160,000-pound, 12-foot-wide machine to Franklin, Tennessee, noting that it would require escorts and wide-load transport. The Killdozer is the same armored bulldozer replica featured in his July 2025 video, where he used it to crush vehicles and offered to legally demolish buildings if anyone had a permit.
