An anonymous Pokemon card collector known as Kabuto King has struck a high-profile charity deal with YouTube creator MrBeast after a viral exchange on X centered around a signed 1st Edition Fossil Kabuto card.

The agreement came together publicly on January 4, after Kabuto King offered to donate $2,500 to a charity of MrBeast’s choosing in exchange for a signed copy of the rare card.

MrBeast responded by raising the stakes, proposing a $10,000 donation instead.

How the Kabuto King and MrBeast deal came together

MrBeast replied directly to the offer, writing, “Make it $10k and you have a deal!” The post quickly gained traction, pulling in hundreds of thousands of views within hours.

Kabuto King accepted the revised terms, confirming the $10,000 charity donation and suggesting an additional idea. He proposed that both collectors also sign an unlimited Kabuto card and auction it off for MrBeast’s chosen charity.

The exchange follows Kabuto King’s ongoing mission to acquire as many 1st Edition Fossil Kabuto cards as possible, a collecting push that has already drawn attention across the Pokemon card community for its impact on supply and pricing.

The moment also adds to Kabuto King’s growing profile beyond the trading card market. The collector has previously tied high-value Kabuto cards to charitable donations, including past fundraising efforts linked to signed cards, which helped push his collecting streak into the wider Pokemon community.

Back in December, the anonymous collector sold a signed Kabuto card on eBay in a charity auction that ended in a $51,000 donation to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
