An ultra-rare version of the Boeing 747 has gone up for sale and has been going viral thanks to its insane interior.
Owning your own plane is a pretty big status symbol, but it can vary depending on the tpe of plane you fly. Some hobbyist pilots have their own small planes, like a Cessna 172 with a prop engine, which allows them to travel in a more serene style.
Plenty of celebrities own their own private jets, such as a Bombardier Global Express, which allows them to get from show to show in quick fashion. Only a select few, though, have converted passenger planes to transport them and their team around.
Typically, the big planes, such as a Boeing 777, are kept for government officials and sports teams, not single people. However, if you’ve got the cash, you can own a pretty rare version of the 747.
Las Vegas Sands-owned 747SP up for sale
A Boeing 747SP – otherwise known as the Special Performance – has been put up for sale. As per SimpleFlying, the plane was previously owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Luxury Resort and had flown for them between 2007 and 2024. The plane, however, first took to the skies in 1980.
It is one of only 45 747SP’s that were ever made, with just two remaining in active service. What sets this apart from the rest, however, is the fact that it’s been converted to have a luxurious interior and has room for up to 60 passengers.
The price hasn’t been made public by Controller.Com, where the plane is up for sale, telling any would-be buyers to contact the seller for a price.
It isn’t the only 747SP up for sale on the website, with a 1995 variant that had been previously owned by the Qatari Royal Family also available. That one would set you back $15 million with it’s current asking price.
There have been more eyes on the 747SP previously owned by the Sands Resorts, however, given it’s been going viral on YouTube as viewers couldn’t believe that it’s up for sale.
The one that was previously owned by the Qatari Royal Family has been up for sale for three years, though, without a willing buyer.
