Twitch streamer John ‘Swifty’ Pyle claims he has been “permabanned” by the streaming website after doing a number of food delivery streams.

Over the last few years, Twitch has become the main platform for a number of new online stars. However, the Amazon-owned platform still has plenty of OGs going strong that have been around since the Justin.TV days.

Streamer Swifty, real name John Pyle, has been around since 2011, regularly streaming World of Warcraft, especially the PvP side of things. He’s claimed to have never been banned in his 14 years of streaming.

However, on January 5, he revealed that he has been “permabanned” by Twitch following a series of streams that were focused on him making food deliveries.

WoW streamer Swifty banned from Twitch

“I thought everything was fine, and I was streaming today, and then one of my mods, Ava, she called me on the phone and said your channel is gone,” the WoW streamer said. “My channel is permabanned.

“To me, it’s a huge shock, I can’t even believe it. I’ve been streaming for 14 years, never gotten in trouble, never got a ban, never got a suspension and I just got permabanned.”

Swifty noted that he’s been doing the food delivery streams to “make ends meet” because January and February are the “worst ad revenue months of the year” on Twitch. “It was working out too. I was actually getting more viewers doing food delivery than I was playing World of Warcraft,” he said.

The streamer noted that he’s just welcomed a new child to the family, too, so the timing is less than ideal. He has since started a GoFundMe, which has already racked up over $4000 of an $8000 goal.

Other creators and viewers have weighed in, with Esfand calling a permanent ban “insane” if that is the case.

Swifty noted that he will appeal the ban to see if he can get his channel back live. However, as of writing, it is still suspended.
