Twitch streamer StableRonaldo says he won $300,000 after placing a six-figure prediction bet on the Times Square New Year’s Eve broadcast – correctly betting that the TV cameras would show a gay couple kissing.
The streamer explained at the start of his New Year’s stream that he had wagered $100,000 that a same-sex couple would be shown kissing during the Times Square celebration broadcast.
When the moment aired on TV as the clock struck midnight, the bet was settled in his favor, tripling his original stake.
The win quickly made the rounds on social media after clips from the stream circulated showing the bet being discussed before the broadcast and the reaction once the moment appeared on screen.
StableRonaldo’s bet was a straightforward prediction: If the broadcast showed a gay couple kissing after the ball dropped, the wager would pay out. If it did not, the streamer would lose his full $100,000.
Earlier in the stream, Ronaldo explained why he made the wager: “You’re probably wondering, ‘why would you do that’ – Bruh, it’s an easy parlay, every single year they show it. Facts.”
After winning the bet, he quickly called his mom to tell her the good news – that he was starting 2026 $200,000 better off.
Large prediction bets have become a recurring feature on Twitch streams, where creators regularly wager significant amounts of money on live events, sports outcomes, and real-world moments through sites like Kalshi and Polymarket.
StableRonaldo has been in the news lately as he was one of the many creators to exit FaZe Clan, and become an org-less streamer. Among the first to announce his departure, there are now almost no creators at all left on the FaZe organisation as streamers.
