Twitch streamer AspenKartier has been accused of hitting her dog during a live broadcast after the animal apparently escaped from its cage, prompting widespread backlash online.
The incident occurred during a stream on January 28. Although the dog is not visible on camera, audio from the broadcast captures AspenKartier asking, “how did you get out the cage?” before she appears to grab the animal.
Moments later, the sound of repeated yelping can be heard, which coincides with the streamer striking three times.
Clips of the moment have since circulated on Reddit and social media, with many viewers accusing the streamer of animal abuse based on the clip. AspenKartier has not publicly addressed the incident at the time of writing, and the VOD recording of the stream is no longer available.
At the end of the clip, the streamer carries the animal by its scruff out of the room.
AspenKartier is a former rapper who later transitioned into streaming and content creation. She currently has more than 70,000 followers on Twitch and over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, where she posts a mix of livestream content and videos.
