Twitch fans can now gift 1000 subscriptions to their favorite streamer in one swoop, and it will save them $1000 compared to the usual price.
Gifting subscriptions has long been a way for fans to show support to their favorite streamers. You can gift single subscriptions to select viewers or drop variations of five to random viewers who are also watching along.
For the longest time, the maximum amount that you could donate in one go had been 100 subs, but that had been upped to 200 in recent weeks. The 200 gifted subscriptions would cost gifters around $1000, meaning it was typically saved for the biggest spenders in the community.
However, as of November 26, Twitch has now given viewers the ability to gift 1000 subscriptions at once. Doing so will cost viewers just under $5000 and comes with a saving of $1000.
Twitch now lets you donate 1000 gifted subs
Streaming star Emiru became one of the first notable names to receive the new amount of gifted subs, with a clip of the moment attracting attention.
“What the f*ck? I’m speechless,” she said. “Dude, what the f*ck, thank you. I feel like if they just added it, it’s not even integrated because it doesn’t show here,” the streamer added, pointing to the leaderboard of gifted subscriptions.
“I don’t even know how to react, holy f*ck,” she continued. “That’s f**king crazy.”
The new cap for gifted subscriptions has also meant that Twitch has changed the custom amount as well. So, viewers can give any number of gifted subs, as long as they don’t surpass 1000.
While the feature has gone live on Twitch for all Twitch streamers, the platform has not yet acknowledged it on social media or on its help pages.
Those FAQ pages still refer to 100 gifted subs being the maximum amount that one viewer can give to a streamer.
