Tubbo has spoken out after being swatted during a live IRL stream in Brighton, confirming that the police call was a false report with potentially serious consequences.
In the video titled “i was swatted (serious),” Tubbo explained that the incident occurred during a pub crawl stream with friends, where the group was dressed in costumes and moving between several bars in Brighton city center.
The stream had been going smoothly, with the group keeping to themselves and avoiding filming other patrons, before the situation escalated unexpectedly at their fourth stop of the night.
Tubbo swatted during IRL pub crawl stream
While sitting on a rooftop terrace, Tubbo said security staff began closely watching the group, which he initially assumed meant they were about to be asked to leave for streaming inside the venue.
Shortly after they moved to the dance floor, multiple police officers entered the bar and approached the group directly. One member of the group, Bilzo, was placed in handcuffs and separated from the others, prompting the streamer to immediately end the livestream.
The group later learned that Sussex Police had received a call falsely claiming that Bilzo, described as the most recognizable member of the group due to his appearance and costume, was carrying a knife and drugs. He stressed that the allegations were completely untrue and that Bilzo was released after officers found no evidence to support the report.
“Someone has done a bit of a seriously unfunny prank call to the police with serious repercussions,” Tubbo said, adding that while he tried to recount the story with humor, the situation itself was frightening.
He confirmed that police acknowledged the call was false and that no one in the group had done anything wrong.
The pub crawl stream took place on January 31, 2026.
Everyone involved was ultimately safe, but emphasized the danger of swatting and the risks it poses to both streamers and law enforcement. He also noted that future IRL streams would be more cautious about revealing locations in real time, particularly in busy public areas.
