Miss Penny, the pet cat of Tiny Chef, has died, according to posts shared across the franchise’s social media accounts.
The Tiny Chef Show premiered on Nickelodeon in 2022 after the Tiny Chef character first gained viral popularity online for stop-motion cooking shorts.
Miss Penny was not a featured character in the televised series but became known to fans through social media posts and community updates connected to Tiny Chef.
The Tiny Chef Show shared the news on its Instagram account. “We unfortunately have sad news to share today,” they said. “This weekend, the Team gathered together during a quiet moment with Chef, with lots of blankets and Chef’s favorite teddies, and shared the devastating news with him, that Mish Pinny had passed.”
“A lot of tears, big and tiny, have been shed. Our hearts are broken, to say the least, and Cheffy is at a loss for words. Chef and Mish Pinny had a bond that you only see once every few lifetimes and watching the two of them together was a gift to anyone lucky enough to witness it. The Team put together this tribute to our favorite girl for Chef and for all of you.
“We appreciate all the LUB and support you show Chef on a daily basis, and he could certainly use a little extra sent his way this week. Instead of our normal videos, we will be sharing ALL the sweet moments of Cheffy and Mish Pinny we’ve captured over the years, to honor her. Fank you, Mish Pinny for being our best gal. You stole our hearts and touched our lives. Lub yew forever.”
The series blended whimsical cooking segments with Tiny Chef’s quirky personality and quickly built a dedicated fan base. In late 2025, Nickelodeon announced the show would not return for a second season, effectively canceling the series, but it was “saved” after launching a crowdfunding campaign.
