American TikToker Brittney Dzialo is going viral after accidentally boarding a plane bound for Tunis, Tunisia, instead of her intended destination of Nice, France.

In her video, posted September 7, Dzialo and a friend can be seen boarding a Tunisair flight from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport. They initially brushed off a passenger who mentioned the plane was headed to Tunis, but quickly realized they were not on the way to the French Riviera as planned.

The pair nervously laughed as they asked other travelers where the flight was going, eventually pulling up maps on their phone to confirm they were bound for North Africa. When they showed their ticket to a flight attendant, she pointed out it clearly said “Tunis” rather than “to Nice.”

In a follow-up video, Dzialo said the airline employee who booked their tickets must have misheard them, since “to Nice” sounds similar to “Tunis.” She added that once they realized the mistake, flight attendants insisted they remain on board because their luggage was already loaded on the plane to Tunisia.

After landing in Tunis, the saga continued. While some passengers shouted for refunds at the airport, Dzialo and her friend spoke with multiple supervisors in an effort to get rerouted to France. At one point, they used a translation app to communicate with airport security.

Dzialo claimed she even turned to ChatGPT to look up European Union flight regulations after two male staff members dismissed her concerns. She said she only made progress after waiting for a female supervisor, who she tearfully explained the situation to. According to her TikTok, that supervisor arranged for the pair to be placed on the next flight to France and even had the pilot hold the plane until they arrived.

The saga finally came to a close when Brittney exited the airport in France, captioning her arrival: “yall we did it.”
