TikTok star Marurice Harrison, better known online as Girlalala, was shot and killed by her boyfriend after an argument between the two.
On November 14, TikTok star Girlalala was shot and killed by her boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr., in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. As per the Broward Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call at around 7pm and discovered the TikToker “in the front passenger seat of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.”
The 21-year-old was transported to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.
As per the sheriff’s office report, the pair had a “verbal argument that turned physical” while inside Whyte Jr’s car. At some point, she was shot.
The TikToker was a popular hair stylist.
Girlalala boyfriend held on murder charge
NBC Miami reported that Whyte Jr was caught on security cameras stepping out of a car, with what appears to be a gun in his hand, with the influencer leaning out of the passenger side door before he placed her back inside.
Girlalala’s boyfriend was arrested by police at the scene, and the gun was recovered. He has been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and first-degree murder.
A judge found “probable cause” for the arrest and denied Whyte Jr. a bail bond over the shooting.
Harrison had shot to fame on TikTok for being a hair stylist, regularly hopping onto different popular trends too. Her account had risen to over 250,000 followers, with millions of views on several videos. Her Instagram account has over 42,000 followers too.
She had also documented her relationship with Whyte Jr. across both platforms, which had been a popular series for fans over the years. Many have taken to those old videos to express their condolences.
“We was waiting on you to come back to TikTok, now you gone,” one said, with broken heart emojis. “This doesn’t feel real,” another said. “Gonna miss you boo,” added another.
