TikTok star Epic Gamer Grandma has died at the age of 78, her family has confirmed.

In a statement shared online, her family said Agnes passed away peacefully at 9:20pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, while “holding the hand of her daughter, Pauline.” They added that she “left this world the way she lived in it: surrounded by love.”

The announcement described the family’s grief, saying: “We watched the strongest woman we know slowly lose her words, and now that she’s gone, we are drowning in all the things we never got the chance to say back.”

Family reflects on life and online legacy

The statement emphasized that long before going viral, Agnes was first and foremost a mother, grandmother, and caregiver. “For most of her life, Agnes was not ‘an influencer,’” her family wrote. “She was a daughter, a sister, a mum, a grandma, a neighbour, a friend… She was home.”

Her rise as a creator later in life came as a surprise to her family, who said, “Somehow, in the middle of all that, she became something none of us expected: Scotland’s biggest elderly creator.” Despite the global attention, they added, “To us, she was still just Nana.”

The family credited her impact to the way she inspired viewers of all ages, writing that her legacy lives on through “every older person who saw her and realised it’s not ‘too late’ to try something new” and “every younger person who looked at her and thought, ‘age really is just a number.’”

They also revealed that messages from fans were shared with her in her final months. “Every message, every comment, every prayer, every message of support was read to her,” the statement said. “Even when she couldn’t respond, she heard you. She knew she was loved.”

The tribute concluded by thanking her audience for supporting her late-in-life journey online. “Thank you for giving her a second family online,” the family wrote. “Epic wasn’t just a nickname; it was a title.”
