A 95-year-old Texas man has been officially recognized as the world’s oldest active bus driver, and he says he’s nowhere near ready to hit the brakes.
Raymond Hager of Wichita Falls was verified by Guinness World Records at 94 years and 176 days old, securing the title after nearly three decades behind the wheel.
“I’m the oldest bus driver in the world,” Hager told KFDX/KJTL.
Hager has been driving for 27 years and started even earlier in life. He learned to drive at just 14 and always gravitated toward bigger vehicles.

Hager explained he originally planned to retire at 95 but has since changed his mind, saying he’ll keep going as long as he stays healthy.
He says he “never gets tired” of being on the road, and the city recently honored him by declaring November 18 as Raymond Hager Day.
Guinness notes that Hager maintains a spotless safety record. Reflecting on the achievement, he told local reporters, “Goodness. Pride. Proud. Thankful that I had been blessed. Little country boy to achieve something like that.”
Hager isn’t the only bus driver making global headlines this year. Earlier in November, a Canadian man went viral after stealing a city bus, continuing the route, dropping off passengers and even refusing someone with an expired pass – unintentionally doing the job better than some actual drivers.
In another wild incident, a man in Ireland stole a bus and drove it roughly 150 miles to Dublin after discovering his scheduled ride was full.
