TikTok creator CarterPCs says his main account was banned on February 8 after years of posting multiple videos every day.
The account, also called CarterPCs, had 6.1 million followers before it was removed from the platform. The creator addressed the situation in a series of videos uploaded to his secondary account, CarterNotPCs, shortly after the ban took effect.
In his first post about the issue, Carter said he had been openly critical of TikTok’s new ownership and admitted he had not considered that his account could be removed as a result. “So we’re working through that right now,” he told viewers.
In a follow-up video, Carter focused on the length and consistency of his posting history, explaining that he had uploaded four videos a day since he was 14 years old and had never missed a day. Now 20 and turning 21 later this year, he described the loss of the account as significant.
“Every day since I was 14, I’ve posted 4 videos a day on this account. I haven’t missed a day,” he said. “This is losing a quarter of my life in videos.”
In another video, Carter said he woke up to his account being locked before it was fully banned, adding that the only explanation provided was a community guidelines violation.
“Today my main account with 6.1 million followers got banned,” he said. “I woke up to account locked, then an account banned without any reason besides community guidelines violation.”
Carter went on to speculate about possible causes, including whether his political commentary played a role. He said he was not certain the ban was related to censorship and suggested it could have been triggered automatically by a technical error.
“They could be trying to censor me, or they just broke the app again, and I got auto-flagged and auto-banned for some reason,” he said, adding that he hoped the latter explanation was the case. He also thanked followers for supporting him while he attempted to resolve the situation.
Carter said he planned to continue uploading content on his secondary account and did not consider the streak over, even though his main profile had been removed.
