Taco Bell is bringing back the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco as the centerpiece of its new Decades Y2K Menu, launching nationwide on September 9.

The taco, a sequel to the original Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, swaps in a crunchy Cool Ranch shell and was one of the most requested menu items after it disappeared from Taco Bell’s lineup in 2019.

Now, thanks to the Decades Y2K menu, the highly requested menu item is returning to Taco Bell.

Alongside the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco, Taco Bell is reintroducing four other fan-favorite 2000s items:

  • Double Decker Taco
  • 7-Layer Burrito
  • Chili Cheese Burrito
  • Caramel Apple Empanada

Taco Bell Rewards Members will get early access to the Caramel Apple Empanada on September 2, one week before the full menu launch.

To kick off the release, the company will host a one-night-only Decades Y2K Party in Los Angeles with rapper Lil Jon performing a throwback DJ set.

Taco Bell Rewards Members will also get access to weekly app-exclusive drops in September, including an Ed Hardy hat on September 2, a retro digital watch on September 9, and a Y2K-inspired tee on September 16.

The Decades Y2K Menu follows Taco Bell’s recent launches of Street Chalupas and Midnight Baja Blast earlier this summer.
