A streamer has gone viral after his parents come across him and another streamer broadcasting instead of being at football practice. However, they were actually understanding.
Not everyone who uploads a YouTube video or goes live on Twitch a few times is going to become a full-time content creator, but content creation and streaming have become legitimate career paths.
Creators at the top level regularly grind away for years before finding success, and convincing people around them that it’s the right move can be tricky at first.
In the case of one streamer, GoldCity, otherwise known as Ryan, they’ve gone viral after their parents caught them deciding to do an IRL (in-real-life) stream on Hollywood Boulevard instead of attending football practice.
Streamer caught doing IRL stream after lying to parents
“What are you doing out here? He’s supposed to be at football practice. He didn’t know we had his location on,” the streamer’s dad said, claiming that he’d lied to both of his parents about his whereabouts.
After talking to the other streamer, jadynviolet, about his journey and proving himself to his own parents, Ryan’s mom and dad came around.
“We have your back, ok? We’re never gonna ever gonna stop you from doing whatever you want to do. We love you and we want you to do what you want to do, but let us in,” his mom said. “We want to be a part… we want to support you, we’ll invest in you!”
GoldCity’s parents were surprised that he had traveled almost two hours to appear on the stream, and lied to them about it, but ultimately left him to stay with Jadyn.
The interaction has been shared multiple times across social media, with it receiving well over 1 million views in total. That’s not a bad springboard for getting something off the ground.
