Samsung has confirmed the US price and launch timing for its first triple folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, alongside a full slate of specifications for the ultra premium device.
The phone will cost $2,899 in the United States and will launch on January 30, 2026. Samsung is launching the Z TriFold in a single configuration with 512GB of storage, available only in a Crafted Black finish.
Details about where customers can buy the device are still limited. Samsung has said buyers can purchase the Z TriFold through its own channels, including Samsung Experience Stores and the company’s online store. It has not yet confirmed whether US carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, or T Mobile will offer the phone.
Galaxy Z TriFold pricing and US release date
At $2,899, the Galaxy Z TriFold sits well above Samsung’s existing foldable lineup. The previous Galaxy Z Fold models carry a $1,999.99 MSRP, putting the new tri-fold device roughly $900 higher at launch.
Samsung is currently offering the TriFold in a single model, pairing its Crafted Black colorway with 512GB of internal storage. No additional colors or storage tiers have been announced.
Carrier availability has also not been detailed. Samsung has not confirmed if installment plans through wireless providers will be available for the device at launch.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold specs revealed
Samsung has also shared the core hardware behind its first triple-folding phone.
The main display is a 10-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 2160 x 1584 resolution at 269ppi and an adaptive refresh rate that ranges from 1Hz to 120Hz.
On the outside, the cover screen measures 6.5 inches and uses an FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 2520 x 1080 resolution and 422ppi, also supporting a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
SamsungPowering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The Galaxy Z TriFold is backed by a 5,600mAh battery.
Camera hardware includes a 200MP primary sensor with an f1.7 aperture, a 12MP ultrawide camera at f2.2, and a 10MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom at f2.4. There is also a 10MP cover camera and a 10MP inner camera, both with f2.2 apertures.
Samsung’s trifold release comes as rumors of Apple finally building its first folding device have begun to pop up, with YouTuber Jon Prosser uploading a video detailing everything back in December.
