Good Mythical Morning hosts Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal are adding “children’s book authors” to their growing list of creative ventures. The comedy duo announced Spaghetti Head & Chicken Fingers, their first-ever children’s book, will be released on June 16, 2026.
The story follows two friends, Saffy and Lumo, who love buttered pasta and chicken fingers—and nothing else. But when Saffy wakes up with spaghetti for hair and Lumo’s hands turn into chicken fingers, the phrase “you are what you eat” becomes all too real.
“It is for the picky eater in your life, and it explores the concept of ‘You are what you eat’—literally,” McLaughlin said during the October 13 episode of Good Mythical Morning. Illustrated by Erica Salcedo, the book aims to turn a familiar mealtime struggle into a lighthearted adventure for families.

Rhett & Link are releasing a children’s book
McLaughlin and Neal, both fathers, said in a HarperCollins press release that they’ve “witnessed the daily drama of picky eating up close” and hope to bring smiles to kids and parents alike. Salcedo, who has illustrated The Ugliest Monster in the World and All Bodies Are Good Bodies, brings the story’s outlandish premise to life with vibrant art.
Known for their viral challenges and internet experiments, Rhett and Link built Good Mythical Morning into one of YouTube’s longest-running and most-watched daily shows.
They’re also New York Times bestselling authors, previously releasing The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek, The Mythical Cookbook, and Rhett & Link’s Book of Mythicality.
Back in 2024, Rhett and Link also released a new scripted comedy show back in 2024 on their original self-named YouTube channel.
