Razer has unveiled a new AI-powered desk companion designed to bring virtual assistants, including League of Legends GOAT Faker, off the screen and into the physical world.
At the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show, Razer showcased Project AVA, a 3D holographic AI companion that appears as a small, animated figure displayed on a user’s desk. The device is currently available to reserve online and uses xAI’s Grok model to power its interactions.
Razer positions Project AVA as a productivity-focused assistant, as interest in more personalized AI companions continues to grow across the tech industry.
Razer brings AI companions into 3D space
Project AVA is described by Razer as a 3D desk companion that can perform tasks such as scheduling, live translation, spreadsheet analysis, and contextual assistance using vision and audio sensing. The company says the device is capable of understanding its surroundings to better respond to user needs.
The holographic figures stand 5.5 inches tall and are displayed in a transparent enclosure designed to sit on a desk. Users can choose from five avatar options at launch.
These include Ava, a stylized Razer logo, and four humanlike characters named Kira, Zane, Faker, and Sao – the viral Japanese salarywoman who sparked Sydney Sweeney comparisons. Razer says the avatars are still in development and may change before launch.
According to Razer, Project AVA currently runs on Grok but is expected to support additional AI platforms in the future.
The company has not announced pricing but confirmed that Project AVA is expected to ship in the second half of 2026. Customers can reserve a unit with a $20 deposit.
This isn’t the only time that Faker and Grok may cross paths. Last year, Elon Musk challenged Faker’s team T1 to compete against Grok, and the world’s top squad was quick to accept the offer.
