QTCinderella has pushed back on claims that “problematic” creators are excluded from The Streamer Awards, telling viewers that the issue comes down to audience turnout, not blacklisting.
The comments came during a stream as QTCinderella discussed this year’s nominations. A viewer asked whether certain creators were covertly barred from being considered, prompting her to address the allegation directly.
“Somebody said, ‘Are problematic people blackballed from getting nominated?’ No! They’ve just never nominated,” she explained. “Their audience doesn’t show up. I think when people have a crazy audience or whatever. I don’t see Jack Doherty’s audience voting for him. I just don’t. They just don’t show up.”
She added that many creators publicly complain about being overlooked but fail to encourage their communities to take part in the nomination process.
QTCinderella says audiences “complain every year”
“It is always funny. Audiences will complain every year that they weren’t nominated, and then not do nominations on stream or not tweet about it, or not ask their audience to vote for them.
“They gave nothing. You’ve got to. You do have to log in with the Twitch account, and you have to fill it out, which I know some people’s viewers don’t have. I won’t say the quiet part out loud.”
Jack Doherty, who was recently arrested in Florida, was one example she cited by name, pointing out that nomination shortfalls are often about participation rather than the awards team blocking anyone.
The Streamer Awards will take place on December 6, with QTCinderella once again hosting the show live.
