Japanese media previews for PokePark Kanto have gone live, offering the clearest look yet at Pokémon’s first full-scale theme park ahead of its public opening.
First announced during a Pokémon Presents after being teased back in 2023, PokePark Kanto spans roughly 26,000 square meters and is entirely built around the Pokémon world.
The park is located in Inagi City, inside Yomiuriland, giving visitors the option to combine traditional rides with a more relaxed Pokémon-focused experience.
On January 26, Famitsu shared new details from its hands-on preview, revealing how ambitious the project is in both scale and detail.

According to the article, the Pokémon Forest area features full-scale statues scattered through wooded paths, including life-size Pikachu playing beneath trees, Diglett emerging from the ground, and Bidoof gnawing away at trunks.
The preview mentions that the forest alone is home to more than 600 Pokémon, with many of them being voiced, giving the area an immersive feel as guests explore.
Sedge Town serves as the park’s urban hub, with statues inspired by iconic moments from the anime, including Squirtle Squad-style designs, Smeargle doing his best Banksy impression, and scaled scenes of Pokémon battling one another.
The preview mentions that the area will also host scheduled parades, where oversized Pikachu and Eevee mascots appear for performances. Should Pokémon trainers find themselves getting hungry on their adventure through the park, there will be food stalls selling Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur ice cream floats, a Snorlax popcorn bucket, waffles, and sushi.
Besides Pokémon statues, there is also a Pokémon Center complete with a real-life Nurse Joy. Visitors can hand over a tray of six Poké Balls to have their Pokémon healed, letting fans live out one of the series’ most recognizable mechanics.
While rides don’t seem to be the main focus of PokePark Kanto, the preview did showcase a very cute flying Pikachu merry-go-round.
With previews now live and opening day scheduled for February 5, 2026, PokePark Kanto is shaping up to be one of Pokémon’s most ambitious real-world projects to date.
