Pokemon fans can make their vacations even more special by staying in themed hotel rooms chock full of ‘mons at locations across Japan.
Pokemon fever is in full swing. The official ‘PokePark Kanto’ theme park is set to open in Japan this February, with more interactive Pokemon installations coming to Universal Studios locations worldwide at a later date.
Now, hotels throughout Japan are offering special rooms themed after the monster-catching franchise to make your holiday even more immersive.
Fans can book family-sized rooms with over 100 Pokemon
MIMARU, one of Japan’s leading apartment-style hotel chains for families and groups, has been offering Pokemon-themed rooms to its guests since 2019. As of February 2026, they’ve since renovated their existing accommodations and expanded these rooms to more locations in the country, spreading the joy for guests in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.
The MIMARU Pokemon hotel rooms feature 100 Pokemon scattered throughout the space. Can you find them all?
These new spaces were themed after two core tenets: “More Pokemon” and “more fun for the whole family.” Each room features 100 Pokemon on the walls, ceilings, and furniture, divided by type depending on the kind of room you’re in. For example, water-type Pokemon make their homes in the bathroom, while food-loving ‘mons can be found in the kitchen.

These spacious accommodations include separate sleeping areas for multigenerational families, fully-equipped kitchens, and dining spaces, perfect for a family getaway or a group vacay overseas.
A giant Snorlax plushie can be found snoozing on the bed, with custom tables, chairs, tableware, and even meals themed after the beloved gaming franchise. These rooms also feature interactive elements like ‘hidden Pokemon’ and include special merchandise to commemorate your stay.

MIMARU is accepting reservations for its special Pokemon rooms through the end of November 2026.
These rooms could be the perfect place to stay for a vacation at PokePark Kanto, which is set to open on February 5, 2026. The park is already going viral, thanks to one video showing a Nurse Joy healing an attendee’s injured ‘mons in a Pokemon Center.
If you want to experience the full park, you’ll need to be in shape; PokePark Kanto features a 1,640 foot-long nature trail that guests can access only if they’re able to climb 110 steps without assistance.
