Paramount is turning the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ obsession with pizza into a real-world attraction, with plans to open at least three official themed pizzerias.
As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, TMNT pizza restaurants are expected to launch in Santa Monica, California, alongside international locations in Monterrey, Mexico, and São Paulo, Brazil.
While Paramount has yet to reveal opening dates, menus, or operating partners, the idea of dining out amongst Ninja Turtle-themed decor will be an exciting prospect for many fans.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles make dining debut
Josh Silverman, Paramount’s president of global products and experiences, framed the move as part of a broader push to evolve the brand’s reach across multiple categories, including consumer products and location-based entertainment.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is full of action, humor, and heart, and showcases relationships that have resonated with generations of fans worldwide,” said Silverman. “Continuing the Turtles’ adventures through products and experiences enables consumers to embark on their own journey.”
The restaurants arrive after renewed momentum for the franchise, following the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which has helped introduce the heroes in a half shell to a new generation of viewers.
For now, fans will have to wait for more details, but the idea of grabbing a slice with Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and their rat sensei, Master Splinter, sounds just as exciting as the pizza itself.
