YouTube icon Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has revealed that he spent years trying to join FaZe and was rejected every time.
At the end of 2025, FaZe Clan, one of streaming culture’s most influential groups, imploded with members quitting in droves, including JasonTheWeen, Lacy, StableRonaldo, YourRage, Kaysan and Silky.
FaZe called it “heartbreaking” and wished the best for its departing members as the org focuses on esports going forward.
One individual who was never part of the original FaZe or the rebooted version, however, was MrBeast and according to the most-subscribed YouTuber, he tried multiple times to join and had no luck.
MrBeast says FaZe kept rejecting him
Speaking with JasonTheWeen, MrBeast was asked about rumors about how he had wanted to join FaZe and explained that he put in a ton of work.
“You just opened a huge can of worms. Not only did I want to join, FaZe rejected me multiplie times when I was way smaller.”
Donaldson then referenced a FaZe Adapt “Stuttertage” he made 10 years prior featuring the creator stuttering through multiple highlights.
“I had videos on my MrBeast channel, the actual main channel with 450M subscribers. I had the FaZe Adapt Stuttertage, I had a video where I talk about every member of FaZe, and then I think I have it unlisted, I did a FaZe recruitment video… I literally tried to join FaZe for years,” he added.
According to MrBeast, despite all his best efforts, the org just wouldn’t let him in.
Despite not joining FaZe, Donaldson has still built a massive media empire, grew to become the world’s most-subscribed YouTuber, launched his own Amazon game show, a chocolate bar company, and more.
Now, with FaZe imploded, it’s crazy to think about what the internet landscape would look like if he had been accepted all those years ago.
