YouTube superstar Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson gave 1000 people the life-changing surgeries they’ve been waiting for, helping some who have been waiting decades.

Alongside his lavish YouTube videos on his main MrBeast channel, Donaldson also runs another channel focused on philanthropy and charitable work. The aptly named Beast Philanthropy has been home to some projects that have changed the lives of many.

Over the years, MrBeast has used his own money to help cure people of blindness, funded much-needed water wells, and given away shoes to people who have been in serious need of them.

On January 25, Donaldson returned to the Beast Philanthropy for the first time since …, revealing that he’d helped 1000 people get life-changing surgery – including helping with blindness again.

In the January 25 upload, MrBeast helped 1000 people based in Kenya, with the majority of those receiving a simple 10-minute surgery on their cataract to help improve their vision. Others had long-standing thyroid issues dealt with, noting that they’d been waiting for years to have it done, but couldn’t afford the surgery.

“If we didn’t film this video, how many of the 1000 surgeries we’re doing here in Kenya would have happened?” Donaldson asked a nurse, who replied “none” at all.

“Isn’t that not freaking crazy to you guys? Everyone you see in this video, their lives are being changed. Without this video, it wouldn’t have happened,” he added.

MrBeast’s team noted that they’d helped one woman, Mama Jane, who had waited 20 years to get surgery on her thyroid condition. One month after it had been successful, she was back caring for her family without issue.

MrBeast has previously stated that by uploading videos to Beast Philanthropy, he is able to fund more charitable causes. However, the videos have garnered backlash in the past, with people claiming he shouldn’t profit from them.

He has said he’ll never stop helping people. “It’s kind of crazy the amount of good we’ve been able to do through a YouTube channel,” he said back in July.
