A TikToker who joked about following MrBeast just in case it might lead to a reward is now getting $10,000 from the YouTuber himself.
In early October, TikToker jiafeis_left_puthylipfan posted a video of herself drinking from a water bottle, with text on screen that read, “I lowkey only follow MrBeast just in case someone comes up to me and asks if I follow him in case there is a reward.” The post quickly went viral, gaining more than 33 million views in six days.
The comment section was filled with fans tagging MrBeast, wondering if he’d actually notice and reward her for the joke. Others agreed that it was a smart idea and even went to follow him themselves.
“Wait brb imma do this,” one user commented.
Another said: “Just followed Mr beast just in case.”
MrBeast’s $10,000 response
On October 13, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, replied with a TikTok filmed before boarding a flight. “I was just swiping through TikTok and I saw that,” he said. “I’m about to board a plane. Check your DMs ma’am, I just sent you 10,000 dollars.”
Donaldson is known for giving away massive prizes, including cash, cars, and even houses, often through YouTube videos or social media challenges.
However, his challenges sometimes spark a bit of backlash from users on social media. A video back in September showed a man trapped in a burning room for 25 minutes in exchange for $500k. Fans immediately began sharing their concerns and called the stunt “evil.”
Donaldson responded, making it clear that he takes safety “more seriously than you could ever imagine,” and revealed that they had emergency personnel on standby in case something went wrong.
