YouTube superstar Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson confronted RayAsianBoy over his claim that TeamWater was a “scam,” with the YouTuber making a pretty big offer to the streamer.
Alongside his extravagant YouTube videos, MrBeast has become renowned for his charity work. His Beast Philanthropy channel has seen him give back in a big way, using all the profits to fund vital medical work in disadvantaged regions.
On top of that, Donaldson has also called on other creators to get involved with his Team Water, Team Seas, and Team Trees efforts. Team Water was his last big venture, raising $40 million to help fund clean drinking water for over two million people for the next four decades.
While plenty of big-name streamers got involved, Twitch streamer RayAsianBoy joked about it, saying he wouldn’t donate, and that “they’ll be fine” without his money.
MrBeast offers to show Ray Team Water in action
MrBeast asked Ray about it as the pair came face-to-face at the Match For Hope in Qatar on January 30.
“Ray, remember that one time you said TeamWater was a scam? Did you mean that?” Donaldson asked. “Yeah. I’m sorry bro, I feel like $40 million is too much,” Ray responded, leading to an offer from MrBeast.
“Do you want to go to Africa and see it?” he said, calling the streamer a “funny guy” and asking if he was just “clip farming” with it. “If you’re ever bored, I can take you to the projects. I would love to,” Donaldson added.
It took Team Water a month to raise their $40 million goal, with a fan paying almost $80,000 to appear in a video with MrBeast, taking them to the target.
The YouTuber also raised $12 million alongside xQc and Adin Ross during a stream on Kick too, which broke a world record for the most money raised during a single stream.
Team Water’s donations are still active, as they’ve raised close to $42 million in total.
