McDonald’s is going full Hawkins as part of a massive Stranger Things crossover, debuting a fried chicken bucket and an Upside Down Burger ahead of the show’s final season.
Netflix is rolling out Stranger Things Season 5 in three volumes starting November 26, with the second arriving on Christmas Day and the finale closing out the year on New Year’s Eve. As hype builds, brands across the globe are launching themed menu items.
While some McDonald’s across the globe have a special Happy Meal-style box with Stranger Things collectables, Puru and Brazil have one of the wildest menu collabs we’ve seen.
McDonald’s launches Stranger Things fried chicken buckets
McDonald’s locations in Peru are offering a full Stranger Things promotion, headlined by the Pollo Crujiente Bucket, six pieces of crispy fried chicken served in a bucket wrapped in the iconic season one Christmas-light alphabet.
The lineup also includes an Upside Down Burger and chicken sandwich. Both flip the buns upside down for a visual twist and come stacked with barbecue sauce with maple, crispy onions, bacon, cheddar, and mayo.
Rounding out the mains is the Hawkins McFloat, which blends Coca-Cola with a layer of vanilla dairy drink for a retro, soda-shop look.
Dessert fans in Brazil get three new themed treats in the form of Walkie Pie, a Scoops Sundae topped with strawberry syrup, and the Code Red McColosso, which is an ice-cream shell with chocolate or caramel syrup, rice flakes, and a Biju Black finish.
McDonald’s isn’t alone in the Stranger Things fast-food takeover. KFC Mexico dropped its own “Stranger Menu,” including a Stranger Bucket, the Eleven Burger built on waffle buns, and a new Stranger Sauce.
On the snack side, Doritos launched Upside Down bags and a chunky Demogorgon Dip that quickly went viral. Babybel and Chips Ahoy also rolled out Hellfire-themed cheese and fruit-filled cookies.
With the final chapter of Stranger Things on the way, every brand wants in on the Hawkins spotlight, and fans are already hunting down every limited-edition bite before the season drops.
