McDonald’s released a mammoth-sized version of its popular fries with an XXL variant, and it’s bigger than the old supersized form.
The menu item was previously available for a limited time in Malaysia to celebrate International French Fry Day on July 11, with similar promotions since being made available elsewhere, including in Thailand with a “Party Fries” offering.
The original Malaysian launch took over Kuala Lumpur’s bustling Bukit Bintang district, where digital billboards showed off the monster-sized fries and employees handed out trays of the deep-fried snack to lucky fans near the monorail station.
That’s a lot of fries!
Party Fries arrive in Thailand
McDonald’s Thailand’s so-called Party Fries come in an extra-wide box and cost approximately $2.70 per portion (99 THB). The promotion began on December 1, 2025.
McDonald’s Malaysia doubles down on fries
“We know how much Malaysians love our fries – it’s never enough! That’s exactly what inspired the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal,” said Chin Mei Lee, McDonald’s Malaysia CMO.
“We wanted to create something truly memorable that brings people together over the one item they can never resist. Whether it’s with friends or family, the McDonald’s Fan Fries Meal is our way of saying thank you and celebrating those joyful moments with everyone.”
At just around $2.34 USD, the meal included the massive fries, a small drink, and a side — in case regular fries with your double fries wasn’t enough.
Sadly, this supersized treat was only available through July 13, meaning fans outside Malaysia missed out entirely. As such, we may need to wait a full year for it to be brought back, hopefully next time with even more countries on board.
But the fry arms race doesn’t stop there. Earlier this year, McDonald’s Japan introduced a “Grand” size fry, also bigger than a large, giving fans hope that the brand might be testing the waters for even bigger portions globally.
Until then, XXL fries remain a Malaysian exclusive… and Supersize looks like a joke in comparison.
