McDonald’s is bringing back its iconic Boo Buckets for this year’s holiday, giving fans another chance to collect the Halloween-themed Happy Meal pails.

The plastic buckets will be available starting October 21 across participating restaurants in the United States. First introduced in the 1980s, the collectible containers have become a seasonal staple for the fast-food chain, doubling as both a Happy Meal toy and a trick-or-treat accessory.

This year’s collection includes the returning Ghost, Pumpkin, and Goblin designs, along with two new additions: Cat and Zombie. Each bucket features unique expressions, and McDonald’s is including Halloween-themed stickers so fans can decorate their pails.

Seasonal promotion

The Boo Buckets will be available for a limited time while supplies last. McDonald’s has emphasized that the promotion coincides with the Halloween season, aligning with the company’s broader push around themed Happy Meal releases and limited-time collectibles.

McDonald’s Halloween buckets are just the latest thing the fast food company has done for kids, with its current promotion featuring the likeness of k-pop boy band BTS. Before that, McDonald’s offered a collab between Sanrio’s Hello Kitty and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

For adults in the US, the Golden Arches company is bringing back Monopoly after an almost decade-long hiatus, and this time, customers will have to use the company’s mobile app.
