Fans of American YouTube star Markiplier will soon get to watch his debut film, Iron Lung, in theaters across the pond now that it’s been picked up by a major UK cinema chain.

Markiplier’s forthcoming horror film has been in the works for years, with the YouTuber staunchly adamant that he wouldn’t compromise on a theatrical release.

Fans waited years for an update — and finally, in late 2025, they were treated to the news that Iron Lung would be coming to theaters across the US.

At first, these were smaller, independently-owned cinemas… but after seeing the high demand from fans, massive American theater companies like AMC, Cinemark, and Regal also got in on the hype, offering the film for viewings nationwide starting January 30, 2026.

In a tearful video after the news broke, Markiplier revealed that he’d been contacted regarding showing the film internationally, saying he wasn’t sure if he had licensing rights to put the film in theaters outside of the US.

Iron Lung picked up my massive UK cinema chain

It seems that matter has now been solved, as major UK cinema chain Cineworld announced on January 9 that they will also be showing Iron Lung starting January 29, a full day before most American theaters begin screening the movie.

“You asked for Iron Lung. We’ve answered. Tickets for Iron Lung are NOW ON SALE at Cineworld. See it from January 29,” the company wrote in a tweet.

Responses from British moviegoers have been nothing short of ecstatic, with fans rushing to buy seats before theaters sell out.

Canadian fans are also able to see Iron Lung in cinemas, with viewings in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.

Thus far, no other theater brands in countries outside of the UK, US and Canada have announced available screenings for Iron Lung, but given Markiplier’s previous comments, it wouldn’t be surprising if he manages to score theaters in other nations before the January 30 release date.
