Man with super viral resume reveals he wasn’t even applying for a job

Scott Kelly, the man whose resume went super viral at a Jonas Brothers concert, has revealed that he hadn’t even applied for a new job before the fame.

Over the years, people have come up with creative ways to get their resumes looked at. Some have taken out billboard and newspaper advertisements, tried to drop in unannounced at companies, and plenty have taken to social media to get noticed. 

However, on November 10, Scott Kelly’s resume blew up unexpectedly. The former military veteran’s resume became the subject of a TikTok trend after a recruiter was caught viewing it during a Jonas Brothers concert.

The video, which was posted by TikToker Your Girl Jen, has gotten over 55 million views, with tens of thousands of supportive comments trying to help Kelly get a new job. However, it turns out he wasn’t actually looking for one. 

Scott Kelly admits he is “happily employed” despite viral resume

Kelly, who has appeared alongside the Jonas Brothers on TV since the viral video, was interveiewd by Good Morning America about the whole situation. 

In that, the veteran revealed that he wasn’t actively searching for a job, and the recruiter in question, Brandon, is someone he actually served with. “He and I served in the army together, actually, way back in the day,” he told GMA. 

He also noted that he is “happily employed” but his LinkedIn profile has been “blowing up” because of the fame. “It’s hard to ignore good opportunities,” Kelly added, so he is taking notice of whats coming his way. 

The former Army veteran also noted that he now has a connect with the Jonas Brothers, as they offered him tickets for any show that he wants to attend. 

However, he admitted that he didn’t know who they were at first. “Pop culture has never been my strong suit,” he said. 

He was also introduced to Jen, the TikToker behind his viral fame, and said he is “grateful” for her getting his resume on camera.
