A man has gone viral after losing it with “loud and obnoxious” theatergoers during a Broadway showing of Mamma Mia!, as he demanded security take action.
When it comes to going to the cinema, attending a concert, or watching a theater show, there are plenty of bits of etiquette that you should follow. Keep your phone on silent at the movies, don’t talk during a theater show, and be respectful to those around you at concerts.
Of course, not everyone follows these unwritten rules, and it could end up in some pretty fiery interactions with your fellow fans.
This has been the case on plenty of occasions, with security needing to remove unruly attendees. And, well, it was the case again on Broadway on January 4 for a performance of Mamma Mia!
Man’s outburst at Broadway show goes viral
With the show going into it’s intermission, a man furiously spoke up about the “loud and obnoxious” showgoers that were sat near him – alerting everyone in the theater to their behavior.
“I need security over here now. This whole section here can vouch for it. You wanna make a scene, I’ll make a scene, don’t mess with my teenage nieces again,” he yelled.
“Bullsh*t, I need security. Where is security? This whole section knows they’ve been loud and obnoxious and now they want to use profanity in front of my nieces?”
The outburst has gone viral across social media, but was initially posted on Reddit by user … “The drama! I’ve never seen anything like this before at a show. Dude was walked away but was back before act 2,” they said.
Others agreed with the man calling out the “loud” showgoers sat behind him. “What is it going to take to get people to understand this is not a sing-along!” one said. “Valid crashout if it was being treated as a sing-along,” another added.
