A North Carolina man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he broke into a Little Caesars location not once but twice and started making and selling pizzas as if the store were open.
According to the Kinston Police Department, the incidents happened at a Little Caesars in Kinston, North Carolina, following a major snowstorm that hit the state over the weekend. Officers responded after the business reported a breaking and entering at the closed restaurant.
Police identified the suspect as 41-year-old Jonathon Hackett, a former employee of the store. Investigators say Hackett unlawfully entered the building during the first incident, prepared pizzas, sold them to customers who were unaware anything was wrong, and kept the money for himself.

Authorities said Hackett returned for a second attempt, again breaking into the restaurant. This time, employees were inside the store and attempted to stop him from entering. Police say that confrontation escalated into a physical altercation, during which Hackett was injured.
He was transported to a hospital for treatment and later arrested after being released, according to police. Investigators did not disclose how many pizzas were made or sold during the first incident, nor how much money Hackett allegedly took.
Hackett now faces a lengthy list of charges, including felony breaking and or entering, felony obtaining property by false pretenses, felony larceny after breaking and entering, misdemeanor breaking and entering, and violating a city curfew.
The Kinston Police Department confirmed that the second break-in led directly to Hackett’s arrest and that the case remains under investigation. No employees were reported to have suffered serious injuries during the altercation.
