Logan Paul’s PSA 10-graded Pikachu Illustrator has broken a new world record as the YouTube star finally sold it to a collector who is just starting out on his “treasure hunt” of rare items.

Back in 2021, Logan Paul purchased the PSA 10-graded Pikachu Illustrator for $5.275 million, trading his previous PSA 9 version and $4 million in cash. Since then, he’s taken it out and about a fair bit, even wearing it during his entrance at WWE’s WrestleMania 38 back in 2022.

While the ‘holy grail’ has often been at Logan’s side, the YouTube star decided to sell it to kick off 2026. Logan revealed that he got a $2.5 million advance for selling the card with Goldin Auctions, which he used for his wedding and a few other big splurges.

After reported bids of upwards of $12 million, the auction for the Pikachu card finally came to an end on February 15, fetching a final total of $16.4 million.

What was the previous record?

That has set a new world record for the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold at auction, but also the record for the most expensive trading card ever sold at auction.

The record had been previously held by a one-of-one Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant Dual Logoman Autographs card that cost $12,932,000. That card, however, was only a PSA 6.

Logan Paul Pikachu Illustrator bought by A.J. Scaramucci,

Logan’s PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator was ultimately bought by A.J. Scaramucci, a venture capitalist, who revealed that it is the first part of his “treasure hunt” collection.

“A T-Rex dinosaur fossil, that’s on my list. I’m going to buy the Declaration of Independence, and I’m not stopping there. This was only the beginning,” Scaramucci told Logan and Ken Goldin.

“We have been fans of Pokémon since we were kids. This was the right way to start the treasure hunt.”

The sale netted Logan more than $8 million in profit, after auctioneer fees too, which he called “crazy” when everything came to a close.

The stream also saw some expensive first edition Pokémon cards being pulled from packs, which buyers had paid around $40,000 for.

However, Logan has come under fire for the sale after he sold stakes in the card through Liquid Marketplace.
