Logan Paul has paid tribute to his record-breaking Pikachu Illustrator card as it nears the end of its auction period, describing the ultra-rare Pokemon card as “the greatest collectible in the world.”

The YouTuber and WWE star shared a farewell message on X ahead of the sale, reflecting on the card’s role in some of his biggest career moments.

Paul purchased the card, a PSA 10-graded Pikachu Illustrator, in 2021 for $5.275 million, trading his PSA 9 version and $4 million for the card. The card is the only PSA-graded version with a perfect grade in the world.

“Goodbye my friend”

In his February 14 post on X/Twitter, Logan Paul wrote: “Goodbye, my friend. What a privilege it’s been to be the owner of the greatest collectible in the world.”

“From Guinness World Records to WWE debuts, Netflix to National News, this card and I have been on a generational run.”

Paul also said the final sale of the card, being sold through Goldin, would be livestreamed on his YouTube channel at 9pm EST (6pm PST / 2am GMT) on February 14/15, where over $1,500,000 of other Pokemon boxes would be opened in front of the camera.

As of writing, the Goldin auction stands at $5,100,000 with 36 hours remaining until close.

“This sorta feels like that moment when you beat the Elite Four, get inducted into the Hall of Fame, and the game restarts. As this Grail changes hands, I’m excited to go on my next Pokemon journey.”

The 1998 Japanese CoroCoro promo Pikachu Illustrator card is widely regarded as one of the rarest Pokemon cards ever produced.

Paul previously drew global attention after acquiring the card and wearing it around his neck during his WWE debut and later earning a Guinness World Record tied to its valuation.

At the tail end of 2025, Paul got his daughter into the hobby of Pokemon collecting by gifting her a PSA 10 Shining Magikarp worth $9000.
