YouTube star KSI says he has been “washed” on YouTube after struggling to hit one million views on his uploads in the back half of 2025.
JJ Olatunji, better known as KSI, has been one of the pioneers of YouTube for the British community. He got his start in FIFA videos before moving on to more IRL and reactionary content as part of The Sidemen.
Over the years, KSI has spread his wings far beyond YouTube, working on music, getting into the beverage and food games with Prime and Lunchly, as well as becoming part of mainstream television as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.
The YouTuber has never abandoned his YouTube channels, but believes he “fell off” for a point before making a solid comeback in the back half of 2025.
KSI admits he was “washed” on YouTube
That came after JasonTheWeen brought up KSI’s leaked analytics, which showed him making around $100,000 for a month’s work.
“You know how many people call me broke as s*it when they showed this?” KSI said to the former FaZe Clan member. “The thing is, it’s true. In terms of YouTube bro, I fell off. I can’t lie bro, I fell off.
“I’m telling you, last year in June is when I started to go back into YouTube. Before then bro, I was washed. I was a f*cking nobody. Bro, I was so ass. The views I was getting were hardly even breaking a mill. So, I was like, I need to lock in, I need to step up.”
The average views on KSI’s main channel, which is just KSI, have ticked back over the million mark. However, his KSI Plus channel is just under a million per video.
He is uploading more consistently than before his break too, which has helped things, and he’s even double-dipping with videos on both channels. As mentioned, KSI’s reach these days spreads far beyond YouTube, but it is his home.
