Kenworth is rallying fans to help turn one of its most recognizable semi trucks into an official LEGO set.

On January 19, the company shared a post on X encouraging followers to vote for a Kenworth W900 build submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform. The post links directly to the fan-made concept and asks supporters to help push it toward LEGO’s review threshold.

The model, titled Kenworth W900, was submitted in November 2025 and has already gained more than 2,200 supporters. Projects on the platform must reach 5,000 votes to advance to the next milestone, with 10,000 supporters required before LEGO formally reviews a design for potential production.

How the Kenworth W900 LEGO idea works

The submission, created by user KnightBubblySoup101, is based on the long-nose Kenworth W900 semi-truck. According to the project description, the build was designed as a tribute to the trucking community and aims to replicate the look and features of the real vehicle.

The model includes a long-hood design with a W900-style grille, opening doors and hood, dual rear axles, vertical exhaust stacks, and a functional fifth wheel. The creator also notes interior and exterior detailing intended to reflect the real truck’s lighting, mirrors, and proportions.

If the project reaches 10,000 supporters, it will enter LEGO’s official review process, where designers assess feasibility, licensing, and market fit. Only a small number of LEGO Ideas submissions ultimately become retail sets.

As of January 20, 2025, the Kenworth W900 project has more than 500 days remaining to reach its next support milestone.

Earlier in January, LEGO announced its new SMART play platform that brings the iconic bricks to life with lights and sounds, without the use of screens.
