Kai Cenat has opened up about his mental health during a recent break from streaming, explaining that anime has played a key role in helping him reset and reconnect with himself away from Twitch.

In a series of posts shared on X, the Twitch star reflected on the effects of maintaining a constant streaming schedule, saying there were moments where he felt he was losing touch with reality.

He explained that stepping back made him realize he was not spending as much time with close friends and family as he wanted, which ultimately pushed him to pause and fully reset.

How anime helped Kai Cenat reset

During his time away from streaming, Cenat said he finally made time to watch anime, something he had wanted to explore but never had the opportunity to fully commit to before. He explained that anime helped take his mind off things and allowed him to escape into stories he could personally relate to.

Cenat said Death Note was the first anime he fully watched, noting that it kept him entertained and distracted through its characters, plot, and soundtrack. He later shared that Naruto has become his personal favorite, saying the series highlights the importance of friendship, helping others, consistency, and being a morally good person.

He also admitted that he once thought anime was strange, but now credits it with helping him build courage and gain a new perspective during his Twitch break.

Kai Cenat explains why he decided to speak up

Cenat acknowledged that opening up publicly earlier in December came with hesitation, especially after receiving negative feedback when he previously shared personal thoughts online.

He said that reaction gave him insight into why many people choose not to speak openly about mental health, even when doing so could help others.

He also clarified that he is not sad or depressed, but felt compelled to speak up after reflecting on what he had been experiencing.

According to Cenat, the decision to talk openly was about raising awareness and connecting with people who may be dealing with self-doubt or fear behind the scenes.
