Twitch star Jasontheween has parted ways with ex-girlfriend Sakura, opening up about the situation in a public statement on February 9, 2026.
Jason posted the statement to X around 10 AM PST that day, explaining that their breakup was amicable and requesting privacy during this adjustment period.
“Sakura and I are no longer in a relationship,” he wrote. “We have nothing but respect for each other and plan to continue supporting one another moving forward. We both feel incredibly grateful for the time we shared together.
“We kindly ask for privacy on this matter moving forward. Thank you for understanding.”
Jason went live on Twitch shortly after posting the news on X, where he clarified that no wrongdoing from either party had led to their breakup.
“No one cheated,” he clarified. “None of that happened. Me and Sakura are no longer together. I have nothing but respect for Sakura. This girl supported me and was my biggest fan.”
“We both have respect for each other and we both plan to support each other through whatever it is moving forward,” he added. “I’m just grateful for the time we shared together, because she truly was my best friend.”
Jason also revealed that he’d thought about the situation for some time, believing it would be best if they both “went their separate ways” to “grow without each other.”
Jasontheween and Sakura’s relationship timeline
Jason and Sakura’s relationship has been a highly publicized affair, first beginning in June 2025 when the two went to Streamer Prom together.
The two famously shared a kiss on-camera, immediately sparking rumors that they were secretly dating. The speculation ramped up after Jason called Sakura’s sister, popular Twitch streamer Kyedae, asking her for “approval” to date Sakura and saying he felt “very blessed” to go to the prom with her.
Their relationship mostly played out off-camera in the months that followed. Fans and even other streamers became heavily invested in the couple’s romance, which came to an unexpected end in August 2025, with Jason saying they needed to distance themselves for their “mental health and headspace.”
Jason and Sakura’s relationship went viral during their time at Streamer Prom in 2025.
However, the couple got back together in October of that year, saying they had kept their reconciliation mostly private until that point. The two streamers urged fans not to read too much into their relationship and explained that they wouldn’t be sharing themselves in the public eye as much as they had previously.
Jason and Sakura’s latest breakup comes right on the heels of Kyedae’s split from her former fiancé TenZ. The timing of these two incidents, as well as Sakura and Kyedae being siblings, ramped up rampant rumors from fans, with TenZ vehemently shut down in several posts online.
