Content creator Jack Doherty has been banned from attending all future PGA Tour tournaments after orchestrating a disruption during a live professional golf event.

The incident took place at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where Doherty filmed himself offering a bystander $100 to shout an obscenity during a golfer’s backswing. The man accepted the offer and yelled “jack*ss” mid-swing, prompting immediate intervention from event security.

Video footage shows Doherty instructing the individual on what to yell, confirming the payment, and celebrating the moment after the outburst. Tournament officials quickly identified both parties, escorting them off the course and formally trespassing them from the venue.

Doherty trespassed and banned from PGA events

While Doherty initially attempted to argue that he did not personally shout the obscenity, PGA Tour officials made it clear that his role in encouraging and paying for the disruption was enough to warrant removal.

During the exchange, an official informed Doherty that he was being trespassed not only from the remainder of the tournament, but from all future PGA Tour events as well.

“If you show up at a PGA Tour tournament again, you’ll be arrested,” the official told him, according to the recorded footage. When Doherty asked whether the ban was permanent, the official replied that it would remain in place “for the foreseeable future” until further review.

Following the incident, Doherty appeared dismissive of the punishment, stating on camera that he did not care about being banned and referring to the event as boring.

The PGA Tour has not issued a public statement beyond the on-site enforcement, but spectator conduct rules prohibit deliberate disruptions during play.
