IShowSpeed apologized to the mom of a young fan after she called a restaurant that he was in to complain that the streamer had ‘run past’ her son.
Getting anywhere close to your favorite celebrity or athlete is a pretty rare scenario. It used to be that everyone wanted autographs, now its selfies and social media shoutouts.
In the case of IShowSpeed, he’s more available than most due to his massive IRL streaming tours. The YouTube streamer has gone around the world, meeting fans, and trying out some different things. Some fans are a bit more laidback than others, though, with Speed, at times, needing the help of police to calm situations down.
He is currently on a massive tour across the United States, visiting 25 states in 35 days, and streaming every single moment of it – including while he’s sleeping.
Restaurant called over IShowSpeed ‘ignoring’ fan
Well, during part of his stream in Philadelphia, Speed was confronted by a mom who claimed that he had ‘run past’ her son.
“I don’t appreciate you running past him,” a woman, who had called the restaurant Speed was in, said. “My four-year-old! I don’t appreciate you running past him. You just ran right past him.”
Speed explained that there are “thousands of people” following him and he has to always be on the move. “My fault, I just got to be always on the move,” he told her before promising to shout out her son’s name, Rocket.
The YouTuber’s prolonged stay inside the fast food shop allowed thousands of fans to wait for him out the front door. He and his security team attempted to exit at one point but ultimately went back inside for a few more minutes.
As Speed says, it is pretty impossible for him to meet everybody, but he does try his best. Things can just get a little wild.
